The Hudson Valley Brittany Club spring trial was held in conjunction with the 2010 Eastern Futurity. We had some very competitive stakes, got some dogs qualified for nationals and the girls ruled! ! ! Six of the eight stakes we ran were won by the girls.
We'd like to thank all of the people that made this a successful 4 day event starting with the Futurity show and HVBC specialty folks Tony & Nancy Morabito. Who also always come and help at the field trial. Thanks to Linda and Drew Holcomb for keeping the stove going, John Kozlowski and Zachary Kostka for bird planting and road guarding, Ed Kostka for fulfilling his chairman roll by keeping the trial moving and running the dog truck. But most of all, we'd like to thank all of our judges and participants. We had many new folks come. Some came and stayed because of the futurity and others to check out the grounds. The weather was extremely windy at first, but after two days it died down and then we had unexpected 85 degree weather on Saturday and Sunday. Fortunately there is plenty of water on the courses for the dogs and Saturday night happy hour had plenty of fluids for their two legged companions including mint juleps in celebration of the Kentucky Derby. We sure hope everyone had a good time.
